July 4
Lighted Boat Parade
Join your fellow boaters as we continue the tradition of the lighted boat parade prior to the fireworks at the beach on July 4. The “Beach Bash” will continue all evening with entertainment and refreshments both before and after the fireworks
- Definition of a “lighted” boat is more than your navigation lights – use LEDs (available on line – Christmascentral.com use check out code “mrbluesky” for 25% discount), patriotic decorations, flags, etc.
- Bring your boat to the area just outside the marina entrance starting at 8:45 PM with your lights on. Parade will begin at approximately 9:15 PM depending on the level of darkness
- The parade will be led by an ODNR/Coast Guard Auxiliary boat, followed by the decorated pontoons from the marina. All other boats should fall in line randomly behind these leaders. Boats to disburse after reaching east end of the dam
- Keep your navigation lights on at all times – turn off all decorative lightening during the fireworks - turn decorative lights on again following the fireworks.
- Monitor channel 69 during the parade
- Call 614-384-0245 for recorded boat parade information
- Inclement weather – captain’s discretion on whether to proceed
Have Fun – Stay Safe
Parade is sponsored by Central Ohio Safe Boating Council
